How do you establish data lineage?

Each tool establishes data lineage in its own unique way. When it comes to MANTA, it has technology-specific scanners that parse code (such as stored procedures, ETL job definitions, etc.) and produce lineage from the metadata that defines the structures and movements of information throughout an account’s ecosystem.

Does MANTA consider conditional statements, where clauses, and joins?

Yes, in MANTA, the lineage produced from conditionals is represented by indirect lineage. Indirect lineage identifies where conditionals are utilizing assets, even if their involvement does not result in data movements of their own.
