We have great news to share. We have just closed a $13-million Series A1 funding round and welcomed our newest investor, Bessemer Venture Partners, who led the round accompanied by another new investor, SAP.iO fund, and the existing ones—German VC fund Senovo and Czech VC fund Credo Ventures. This is a turning point for all of us at MANTA that reinforces our vision of the automated approach to data management and the processes surrounding it.
How It All Started
MANTA started back in 2008 as an internal tool of the Czech company Profinit. After a few years of enhancements and adding new features, MANTA became an independent company that is now headquartered in New York City with customers and partners spread all over the globe. We are helping them stare down challenges surrounding data management by providing them with a clear and comprehensive image of all data flows with their transformations and dependencies, all in an automated fashion.
MANTA’s uniqueness lies in recognizing the true power of detailed, accurate, and automated lineage and its value for every aspect of data management, which can be improved by turning metadata from passive information delivered to data users into an active driver. Following the path of automation allows organizations to save money, time, and resources by improving the overall productivity of data teams by 30-40%, performing 95% faster and more accurate impact and root cause analyses, drastically simplifying system migrations, and also enhancing data quality, data privacy, and data governance initiatives.
MANTA’s Vision
Our platform is the remedy for what’s hurting data management the most these days—the manual approach.
While other solutions see lineage as an additional feature for better governance, risk, and compliance, we see it differently. MANTA’s primary focus has always been detailed and accurate data lineage, harvested by connecting to the technology sources, downloading the programming code from there, and analyzing it in an automated way to eventually generate a visual presentation of the sources the data comes from, where it is flowing to in the environment, and what happens to it along the way. It’s a crucial part of the augmented data management efforts that are taking place all over the data management industry.
With this funding round, we are adding more features and enhancements to our platform that will allow organizations around the world to make their data truly a corporate-wide asset, by providing data users with an automated, robust, self-service lineage platform that delivers actionable intelligence and, with its API-first approach, truly enables digital transformation. We are continuously working on expanding our technology coverage and adding new modeling tools and programming languages that MANTA can scan to accommodate the needs of all possible users so they can achieve so much more while doing so much less.
